Agate is the son of Anubis Egyptian god of the afterlife, protector of the graves. With his great power he was ostracized as a child as he could see and feel things that most others could not. With it came great power and strength that would lead change to his world as a great warrior. Fighting the fights that those don’t know yet did not understand was set upon him as all manner of monsters and manmade enemies came to destroy or upheave the lives of everyone around him, including his beloved friends and mother. To truly help he first needed to train these powers to become the hero he needed to be, the hero he was destined to be. For years he trained his hardest and fought against those who supported the wickedness he opposed. From the youthful age of eight to the binging’s of Adulthood at the age of eighteen, he fought to protect everything and anyone he could with his power. Possessing great spiritual power that allowed him to use powerful techniques and fight against ethereal beings like ghosts. With each fight he grew stronger and learned more of what was needed of him. On this journey though it would only become more difficult as the enemies also grew stronger, powerful enough to destroy the solar system, with the lack immortality against such foes most demi gods were blessed with. In consideration of this he tirelessly trained to make sure he never hurt his mother that raised and protected him from so much, soon though fear would grasp him, the fear of death as the final enemy became clear. “How can someone like me live, yet alone, beat someone like this”. In their first encounter he almost didn’t, faced with the reality to either quit or try again before his own father Anubis. Agate rose from the ashes of his fears and from it gained new power, new resolve, a transformation that would lead him to victory over this great enemy but not without a grueling fight.

This was obviously not accomplished alone. Normal people with the gift of spiritual connectivity and power were allied, trained and became friends with him. Even those he fought with like a tough spirit with jokes for days became friends with him. His lover Sapphire was a woman he rescued from a dream eater that cheer and helped anyway possible even someone to confide in, when times were rough, stressful, or if he felt lost. This love would prosper into something we all hope for, true love, a peaceful life together, a family. The wedding they had was one to truly remember. The slim white dress with the a spiderweb, fish net look to it was dazzling every guy was jealous as was every woman just because the guy is a charmer all the way to his core and doesn’t know how to turn it off. The toast was a tear jerker as most people got it and others didn’t as it dealt with his overall duty to protecting the world. Not to long after the wedding, Agate and Sapphire would have their daughter Yin Yang. They named that because Sapphire brought the best out of him and he brought the worst out her when he would worry or upset her. He wanted to instill this into their daughter to make sure she was always ready for anything, never want or need anything, be happy no matter what. With the fighting done, the small fries came and went with ease so, Agate looked more into science to help those around him, too pay forward the same help he felt he got that whole time without the world really knowing what he did. Since he couldn’t live forever and be granted immortality he just looked-for ways to extend or help the quality of life for others with Sapphire. She was the smartest scientist in the world making inventions and gadgets that seemed out of science fiction. Through her help and studying how spiritual power works she was able to make items that could even be easily used by the elderly and used ancient spells from different mythologies to help in their construction, this got Agate out of some trouble.

At twenty-five years old Agate is at a point of a breakthrough in science for eternal youth, a five-year-old daughter happy and strong as can be with his blood. Something begins to happen as Agate feels life begin to leave around him. He thinks to himself

Agate: “That’s a lot of life gone so quick, I will have to go see father about this later. I’m sure that I can beat it and fix this. For now, I have to focus on the formula. I just need to figure out the right proportion for the fountain of youth water.”

Agate stays so concentrated on his work that he doesn’t realize the horror and serious of the current situation as more life is slowly lost over the course of the day that makes him begin to panic. This causes him to temporarily make some bad choices, like forgetting how much youth water he put into his perfected formula and how much to actually drink. The drink is supposed to help regain ones’ prime look while maintaining their age and current thought process which is why it’s important to know how much fountain of youth water is in it. Either you’ll revert to that age both in mind and body or accidently make yourself disappear. His confidence in his power and split thought process on the loss of life around and the drink dulled his sense, while keeping him oblivious to his situation as the lab under the house was growing hotter. Agate began to wonder what was going on, so he decided to head up while drinking the Youth syrum, mistakenly drinking the whole thing rather than a cup full from the beaker that’s twice that size. The drink then caused a bad reaction that knocked Agate out cold at the top of the stairs. When he finally woke up the house was ablaze with the door burnt down, his lab coat nearly burnt up to body, worse of all not remembering where he was with the mind frame of his eight year old self with the body of his seventeen year old self. Once he got to the actual house what he saw was a horror show. A woman lay dead by the doorway and a demonic monkey creature with spider/octopus like appendages extending from it grasping something tightly. With his current memory gone he could only panic, while wanting to run away. The creature began to taunt him, saying

Creature:” Well if it isn’t the hero Agate. I honestly didn’t expect you to be here, I was beginning to wonder if you’d somehow died. I killed so many trying to get to you or at least to get you to come to me.”

Agate:”Who are you? What are you? What do you want with me?”

Creature:”Do you really not know what I am? What her do you not know her either, be careful with your words. I don’t really have a lot of self control when it comes to my strength. (The creature, gently, purposely brings a small girl clutched in his tentacle towards him. The girl is bloodied and shedding tears. As she looks down on Agate)

Yin Yang: (While reaching out her one free arm) ”Papa, help me-”

In this moment, Agate remembers everything of his life, his love and his daughter. As he reaches out towards his daughter, the creature squeezes with all of his might, killing her before his eyes. The scene is too horrific for words, he can only cry out her name and attempt to attack the creature as it takes a grave hit from him, leaving the creature screaming in pain at first.

Creature:”Ahhhh……ha………ha….hahahah…HAHAHAHAHA, that’s what I was looking for, you did know this little girl. Well I guess have her back now.”

The creature throws Yin Yang at Agate. Agate rushes to catch her carefully and genteelly, so she doesn’t suffer anymore. The creature then uses this opportunity to lash out at Agate with all of its might. Agate tries to dodge the attack as best as he can while moving his daughter just out of its reach, gashing him from his left hip to his right shoulder, barely avoiding it being the end of his own life. Using some of his power to heal while healing his daughter the creature speaks to him again.

Creature: “Truly pathetic did you think you just beat me with that legendary strength of yours and it’d be over in an instant. (Touching the wound given to him by Agate, the creature notices that he is still bleeding badly) Well now I wasn’t expecting this. I cant heal the wound you gave me. I might die with you at this rate, I don’t want that. So lets call it here for now and play again later. I can give you some time to grieve for everyone, if you live that wound while trying to save a dead girl. Oh well till next time”.

Agate: (Irrationally angry) “ Your not going anywhere, you bastard. Im going to kill you. (Just then he coughs up blood, with a little getting on his daughter. Distracted, it gives the creature time to escape through a dark looking portal)

Creature:”Good luck trying to catch me in your condition but so you don’t forget me I want to leave you a parting gift. My name is Gordeau Naraku, a powerful ancient demon that came to kill you. I’ll tell you why if you live and find me. Later”. (Gordeau vanishes under the guise of the dark portal)

The dark portal begins to disappear as Agate reaches out for the portal to unleash the attack as he hears a distorted breathe. Quickly reacting and realizing that its Yin, he pours all of his energy into healing her, but his body is already healing itself from the wound Gordeau gave him and the side effects of the medicine. His daughter reaches up to his face as he is desperately trying to heal her, no words can form as he can only think I’m sorry, I’m sorry I let this happen, I’m sorry I wasn’t here, I’m sorry I was so arrogant that I thought I could handle this easier, he then slowly begins to accept what’s in front of him as his daughter’s hand drops from his face onto the ground. Tears pour in as he wipes his blood of her cheek, cleaning her face from the dirt and her blood. His crying increasing until it becomes a hysterical yell, one of sadness, anger, shame. Its here he use’s an old spell that plays the memories of someone like a dream, you need certain materials for certain time frames or how long, when you do it like that, you only need the person. He see’s that Sapphire came home from some time together, it was their little girls day out and even did some grocery shopping. Agate’s spiritual teach Gen Fu came along to help them, saying thinking a barbeque was going on. When asked why did he think so, he stated he saw smoke from the house. They all rushed to the house where the creature was standing looking more human than originally, as it turn around asking for Agate.

Gordeau:”Im looking for Agate, I thought he’d come out if I burnt down his house unless he just doesn’t care would you know? I want to kill him.

Gen Fu: (Urgently) “Saphire, take Yin and get out of here. Find Agate, he should be able to handle this”.

Gordeau:”Ah, you must know him the most, just tell me where he is and I will be on my way.”

Gen fu leaps in to attack the creature only to be skewered and riped in half.

Gordeau:”Your in the way old man. Now little lady tell me where Agate is and nothing else will happen. I ‘ve been very patient only killing a small amount of people throughout the day and before I knew more than half of the world is dead, all I want is Agate that’s it, you can worry about anything else after that K sweetheart”.

Sapphire: (Thinking to herself) Agate should still be in the lab, I only need to distract him long enough to get too Agate.

I know where he is, but there’s no way Im telling a monster like you anything. (Sapphire reaches into the car and pulls out an odd looking device that begins to shine and transform into a mini mech with spiritual energy.)”

Gordeau: “This thing looks interesting, lets see what happens. (The creature begins to slowly transform into the form Agate saw while simply flicking his thumb at the robot shooting it with air bullets of some kind.)

Sapphire runs into the burning house with Yin in her arms, looking for the lab door, she currently hates that they sound proofed the lab from distractions since she needs Agate. Just as she reaches the door and puts Yin down, a quick jerk is seen from her. She was impaled by one of the Tentacles.

Gordeau: “Now lady, I don’t think you know that well but that thing didn’t stand a chance against me. Now tell me where Agate is and I can help you live, even heal you though I’ll just kill you after I kill him. I think that might be fun be able to kill you twice. What do you say?”

Sapphire: (In pain and barely able to speak, spits on him) “Go to hell”

Gordeau:”To boring, but A for effort. (He suddenly removes his tentacle from her causing her to die instantly from shock and blood loss)

Yin: (shocked and scared) “Mama”

Gordeau: “Man I hate this crap she could have just told me. Hey kid do you know where Agate is? Killing kids aint fun unless the whole family is together. Just tell me if you know the guy at least and I’ll take it from there.”

Yin: (Building courage, taking a stance and thinking “Papa will be here any minute I just have to hold him off for papa to save Mama”) “My Papa will beat when he gets here, so I’m not gonna tell you where he could be”.

Gordeau:”Oh, you’re his kid, that means I just killed his wife. You know what kid, you just made this a lot better for me, I’ll play until he gets here then. Lets see if his kid is stronger than he is”.

For a whole hour she is tossed around like a wet rag, as boredom sets in for Gordeau. Gordeau keeps smacking her around with air bullets as suddenly decides to grab he with one of the weird tentacles.

Gordeau:”Look kid this aint fun and wasn’t fun, so lets just end this okay. Looks like daddy died somehow, disappointing for the both of us right. Welp time to die.” (That’s when Agate emerges from the lab room to the previous scene.)

Agate can only cry out even more after seeing whats happened. He only wanted to work a little harder that day, he thought it couldn’t be anything this strong. He was just wrong at the worst possible time, we all have times when were wrong even when, like Agate we aren’t a lot. After burying his master, his wife, his daughter, his spirit buddy Roo came along to tell him that the creature had already killed his other friends but he had a hard time finding him for some reason.

Roo:”Agate listen, we need to move this creature is attacking all life here, he’s looking for you and—(Roo suddenly realizes that Agate looks different and that he is in front of some freshly dug graves) What happened Agate? Your house is burnt down, who’s buried here? You look…younger why?” Suddenly Agate hits Roo with a stiff punch, one that could have killed him if he wasn’t so tough and a little prepared.

Agate:”Roo, help me get to the plane of the Gods. If we can get them to help us to restore the life of everyone, we only need to worry about the bastard that did this too Master Gen fu, Sapphire…..and Yin Yang”.

Roo couldn’t bring himself to say anything though he really wanted to. They prepared a portal to the plane of the gods where his father Anubis and other gods he had forged over the course of his life could help him restore life and balance. What they found wasn’t what they had hoped for. What they found was all the gods lay dead where they presumably stood. A stone that records history or moments in the land of the gods was found in the hand of Agates friend Hades who despite not liking Agate would help him tough pinches. The recording showed that the creature had managed to come into the plane of the gods before he went Agates house looking for him. Creating a clone to kill the innocent people he felt dying until he decided to use the bit of information he got from someone through his clone, who knew Agate but not of his life style where he lived and went to Agate’s house.

Agate was beside himself in despair. Everyone he has ever protected, all his friends, his family, are all dead. The people that could have helped make this right are dead and the creature that did all of this is nowhere to be found. An anger unseen before in Agate erupts from himself that tears the very heavens they stand apart bit by bit until Roo can calm him down, where only a distraught, sadden man breaks down, lost with no one to turn too.

As hours turns to days Agate is filled with grief and shame as he tries to put together how something like this creature can exist, how could he be so blind, arrogant that he would allow this to happen. As he ponders this, a thought crosses his mind. A comment from his wife Sapphire appears in his mind.

Sapphire: (A flashback to when Agate nearly died before coming back.) Agate, if you can hear me, I need you to come back. I need you more than you know because…I love you. I know that you feel lost sometimes but this isn’t one of them. You know what you can do, you know I’m here to help you. Always, no matter what, we can beat this, I just need you to come back.”

In this instant, his grief slowly turns to determination. The resolve that was forged that day, that gave him his transformative power, has been renewed and revitalized. He starts to use the science he has studied with the spells that he’s learned to track Gordeau. The days pass by as he tireless works on this invention that will gain him his revenge against Gordeau or die trying. As the days turned to weeks, weeks to months, filled with nothing but determination, redemption, revenge, Agate puts together a machine that tracks down Gordeau and shows him the location. A world he has never seen before. Before leaping after him, he decides to read over what the machine has found. He discovers that the world before him is an alternate reality. Agate is shocked at this discovery but is undeterred at what he knows he must do. It takes him an extra month to infuse the machine with an ancient blood spell that allows the machine to siphon energy from the world to recharge itself. Agate has a similar ability which allowed him to fight ghosts and other ethereal beings, using that to his advantage he used his blood for the blood spell to infuse that ability into the machine.

With one final check into the equipment he brings with him, Roo comes to what was once Agate’s house and ask’s.

Roo:”Are you going to be okay man? I know you want to take this guy down but you’ve gotta keep a level head. You’ve always been good at that, almost like it was written into you.”

Agate:”I’ll be fine, I’ve planned carefully, trained while fixing up the invention, to make sure its in working order and can recharge at any time. Besides if I need some extra advice I’ll have you there.”

Roo:’That’s good to hear…..wait a minute. I wasn’t expecting to go. I think you might have me confused with your other friends, Im not much of a support character. Im good for a laugh or two maybe make some neat references but not this. This is all you.”

Agate:”Your coming with me, I’ve already packed some things for you and even made sure to bring the good magazines.”

Roo:”The good ones, huh. Well a bump like you would really know what to do with those sooooooo I guess I can come along.”

Agate: “Good we’re leaving now. (Agate turns on the machine to head to the world in which Gordeau awaits, reaching out for Roo) Lets go brother.”

Roo:”Wait Im not ready for this, lets wait a minute or thirty, a chapter? Waiiiiiiiiiiit (Roo yells his final word  as the device sends them flying into the new world)

As they travel through a sub dimension of time and space to reach the new world a robotic female voice says.

Teleporter A.I.: “Approaching Earth in 1 minute, error, location compromised, teleporting above Akihabarah, Japan.”

Roo:”Above!!!”
